Summary
OnRecord helps co-parents communicate in a structured, export-friendly way. This policy explains what we collect, why we use it, and your choices. OnRecord is not a law firm; consult an attorney for legal advice about your case.
Information we collect
Account: email address, password (stored hashed by our authentication provider), and the display name you choose. Case data: case name, invite codes, messages, calendar events, expenses and receipts, exchange check-ins, exports you generate, and timestamps. Private journal: notes only you can see; your co-parent cannot read them. Usage events: we record a small set of in-app events (for example "case created" or "export generated") with your account and case ID in our own database, to understand which features are used. We do not use advertising trackers. Crash reports: if the app crashes or hangs, Sentry (our crash-reporting provider) receives the technical error, device model, OS version, and performance timings. We configure it to exclude screenshots, on-screen text, network request details, and message content.
How we use information
We use your data to run the service: sign you in, sync your case with your co-parent, send push notifications, show realtime updates, generate PDF exports you request, and fix bugs. We do not sell your personal information, show ads, or use your messages to train AI models. Optional writing and summary assistance runs on your device with Apple Intelligence; that text is not sent to us for processing.
Where data is stored
Case data is stored with Supabase (hosted PostgreSQL) in the United States. Crash reports are stored by Sentry. Push notifications are delivered through Apple Push Notification service. Subscriptions are processed by Apple; we receive the plan and renewal date, never your payment details. Messages are encrypted in transit (HTTPS) and at rest by our hosting provider. They are not end-to-end encrypted, so people operating OnRecord could technically access stored data. We only do so to provide support you request, to keep the service secure, or when legally required.
Retention and deletion
We keep account and case data while your account exists. When you delete your account, we delete your login, profile, devices, and private journal. Messages you sent, events and expenses you added, check-ins, and exports stay in the shared case record with your name as it was when you sent them, because your co-parent relies on that history and may need it in court. If you need something else removed, email support and we will tell you what we can and cannot delete.
Children
OnRecord is intended for adults managing co-parenting. Do not ask children to create accounts. If you believe we have collected a child's personal information in error, contact us.
Your rights and contact
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, or delete certain personal data. Contact us at support@onrecord.app for privacy-related requests. We will respond within a reasonable time.
